"The largest challenge that we face, from my perspective, is the ability to continue moving forward so the agency will have a single mission: that is, to provide decent, safe, and affordable housing." Alphonso Jackson

About My Blog
My blog will focus on something we will all need to worry about sooner or later, finding a house. Personally, I have grown up in North Kingstown, RI my whole life and absolutely love it here. In a perfect world, I would settle in the town and start the life after college in next year or two, but economy struggles (especially in Rhode Island) have made that difficult. The goal of my blog is to research and inform others about the housing crisis we are all facing in the state of Rhode Island. Most of the blogs will be focused on the North Kingstown district, but comparisons to other parts of the state as well will be discussed. I also plan on talking to many different people who are associated with the town, whether they are town representatives or town home owners. As part of my research, I will examine and determine what is considered "affordable wages" as we stand here today in 2011. Another possible blog post may be discussing what was deemed "affordable" in decades past and see how it has transformed over time and what that means to young college students such as myself. With this blog, I hope to develop my writing skills farther and learn more about a topic that will benefit me in the long run as we head into the future.
